Check me out and Santa!

I actually figured out this whole template thing...go me. Why they put html thing on two different parts, I have no idea...but I figured it out :) Okay, so this past weekend was pretty crazy. On Friday, I was out for a few hours getting a bunch of snackies and stuff for our "Howliday Party" at work on Saturday. Then, of course, I was in bed by 8:30, and so was Harrison. Thankfully, while I was gone, he had a BIG #2 for his daddy....ha ha, it's his turn now! So that was pretty awesome to come home to the bath tub out, and poop all over the changing table, and some on dad, I should have taken a picture :)
So, on Saturday morning, we had our party and I got to be Santa this year for all the puppies. It went pretty well, I freaked some of the dogs out, like one of my favorites, Harvey. He's a Great Dane mix and as soon as his pictures were taken he crawled into the smallest crates in room. I felt so bad! Kenney took Harrison up there too, and THANKFULLY he didn't look at me before these pictures were taken because as soon as I turned him around, he freaked out. He cried and cried and cried some more, poor thing. I was ripping off all the beard and wig and saying "Harrison, it's Mommy!!", so I ran as fast as I could to the bathroom and took off the jacket and pants, and went out as "normal" Mauria, and he calmed down. Poor kid, can't say that I blame him!
Then that night, we went over to Kenney's mom's house for Christmas with his brother and his fiance because they go to Minnesota for Christmas every year. It was so much fun! We got pictures of Harrison next to his grandma's real tree, and he even pulled off an ornament from it ( a plush star, no hooks!). Then, he got to unwrap his gift, and he tried to eat the wrapping paper! I love this picture, it's so cute!!
On Sunday, we went down to Shelbyville to visit my grandparents for Christmas, and we got to eat some real comfort food, and to top it all off Mrs. Fields cookies for dessert! :) I'm such a sweet tooth, hopefully Harrison doesn't get that from me :) It was nice for my grandparents to see him though, and he got his first present from them, a roll of Indiana uncirculated quarters from my grandpa, that Harrison can't get until he's 21. I thought it was such a good and original gift, my grandpa is pretty awesome....even if he is a Republican :) j/k.
Well, that's it for now! I'm having a cookie baking day on Saturday for all of my gifts..economy sucks, so we are giving cookies for presents :) Woo! So the next time I'm on here, I'm sure I'll be about 3000 lbs from this weekend!

Blogging :)

Okay, so I have to say, I think I'm pretty computer literate, but why every blog is different to change the background on, I don't know. I have no idea what I'm doing on this blogspot, I have no clue how to change the background on this thing! If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it! I thought I uploaded the right html on the layout, but it's not showing up. Whew, sorry, had to vent there.
So, it's been a little while, and we've been super busy! Harrison is doing great! He's really close to rolling over from his back to his belly, he gets all the way on his right side, then as soon as he's about to roll, he goes to his back :) He likes to "fake" Mommy out :) We are working all the time (he gets to come with me to the daycare), and he's loving it, even though he gets to sleep on the job, right through all the dog barking!
I'm really excited for this month, last month he had his first Thanksgiving, in which he tried cereal for the first time, it was hilarious! He kept making that "yucky" face, but now that I've figured out that I can put baby applesauce in it, he loves it! I'll have to put pictures on here. It was so scary for me though! We went to the doctor the day before Thanksgiving for his 4 month shots, in which I learned my lesson in not giving him Tylenol before, he cried for 2 hours!! Poor kid, I'll never make that mistake again! But I was talking to the doctor about when to start baby food and stuff, and I got so scared! It's just a new thing ya know? I mean, I have breastfeeding down, I know when he's hungry, when he's full, he latches on great and we've never had a problem, but now it's like, he's getting less and less dependent on me. They just grow up so fast!! But, I'm over it now, it's fun to feed him with a spoon :0
We are going to put up the Christmas tree this weekend, and I plan on getting lots of pictures. Instead of going to Target or whatever for expensive professional pictures, we are going to take them ourselves. We'll see how it goes, I'm dying to get pictures with him and the dogs, but there's no way my dogs would sit still :) Well, I'll get some pictures on here in the next few days, it's tough keeping up on myspace, and here! :)

Victory!!

YES!!! America has spoken and made the correct decision (I hope) on electing Barack Obama as President :) Was it just me or did everybody feel what I felt? I felt such a sense of pride and hope for America. I felt proud that we as a people looked past skin color, for once, and elected a person on their ideals. On that historic Tuesday night, I didn't stay up all night to get the results. I went to bed at my normal 8:30 (Hey! I'm a Mom now!) and I woke up at midnight to pump (TMI, get over it). So, when Harrison, or Harrison's kids ask me, "Where were you when Obama gave his acceptance speech??"...I'll have to make something else up other than, I was on the couch, in my nightgown, pumping for milk. Nice huh?
Okay, enough politics.

Nothing really else going on, just working as normal, getting ready for the Holidays. Can you believe they have Xmas crap up already??!? I can't believe it!! It seems it comes earlier and earlier every year. Insane.

Man, this is a boring post. My bad. Here's a picture of Gladys to distract you from this crappy blog.

First blog :)

I guess I should start off with information about me. My name is Mauria and I'm from Indianapolis Indiana. I have a wonderful husband named Kenney, who is my complete opposite. He loves running, and biking, and tree hugging :) Me, I enjoy not running or biking. :) Really, I enjoy anything to do with my family, and that includes my 3 dogs. I love staying in and renting movies on cold days, and walking in a park on a warm one. I'm the kind of girl that likes Pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain :)

I love my job, it's one of my favorite things to do. If I had a choice to stay home all day or go to work, I'd go to work. I get to be around dogs the whole day, AND bring my son to work with me. I have to say that I'm really blessed in my life. After 2 years of trying to get pregnant, we were blessed with Harrison on July 25, 2008, he's the light in our lives. He's such a happy boy! He's everything to me, before he was born, I never thought I was capable of loving anything more than Kenney and my dogs, now I know a different kind of love, it's an amazing feeling.
I guess that's it about me for now. :)
My first blog...hmm..what to write about. Well, it's Election Day tomorrow, and for those of you who know me, I'm a HUGE democrat. I'm so excited to be alive to see this monumental election. Whether Barack Obama wins or not, I'm just happy that I've gotten to witness history in the making. What an exciting time!! There are no holds barred now, every line has been crossed, we've had a woman running for the primary, and african american win the primary, and hopefully win the election tomorrow. I just know when I get older, Harrison will be asking me what it was like to be a part of something so huge. I can't wait for that. Harrison will be proudly wearing his "Babies for Obama" T-shirt tomorrow!
