He officially found the water bowls!

Oh no, look what I witnessed the other day! He was just having such a blast splashing around the water bowls with Gladys. What a crazy kid. He also was looking in Daisy's food bowl....check out her face, priceless :) Harrison's crawling everywhere now, he's getting into everything, thank God we childproofed the other day! He's trying to open the cabinets, and he's chasing after the dogs, and whew, he goes a mile a minute! I think he's going to be a runner just like his daddy :) He also started standing up the other day! My parents have a sunken living room and he just stood up on the step like it was no big deal. Of course his little booty was swaying back and forth, it was hilarious. I just can't believe how big he's gotten! I remember the days when I could hold him and he fit just perfectly on my chest, now he's got these big arms and legs flayling around :)
We went to the zoo last weekend and had a blast, we were just waiting for the right time where he could see the animals and really be interested. He made it to the "Plains" and knocked out. I think his favorite part was seeing his Aunt Kate in the Desert :) She was feeding worms to nasty lizards, but he loves her, so he let that go :) Kenney and I got to pet the sharks, and really spend some quality time together as a family. I cherish those times together because it doesn't really happen that often.
We've also been preparing for my nephew's arrival! He is due on August 8th, in which I was due on August 11th with Harrison, so they boys are going to be really close in age! We had the baby shower last weekend with my sister in law, and we've been getting everything together to hand down to baby Alexander. I can't wait until he comes into this world, he and Harrison are going to be running around like crazy here in a few years. I hope they are as close and my brother and I are :)

Tomorrow we are off to the Indiana Dunes :) Kenney and I have been up there once before and it was a great time, and we are so excited to bring Harrison along with us on our excursions now. Before he wasn't really into anything, but now he wants to grab everything, I can't wait to see what he does in the sand!

He's on the move!

Well, Harrison is officially crawling! He's no longer army crawling anywhere, he's really crawling! And boy is he fast! If you turn your back for a minute, woosh! He's gone! It's definitely so different around here now, since our baby gate has been broken for a while, thanks to Marley, our foster beagle, we've been taking it down and letting Harrison crawl everywhere, which means, we are cleaning all the time. We have 4 dogs in our house, so you can just imagine how much dog hair and dirt is on our floors. So, we've come with a routine of sweeping and mopping everyday, plus wiping the dogs paws off as they come in from outside. My friends have always told me that whenever Harrison would start crawling, that I would get a lot of exercise because I'd be chasing after him everywhere, and they were right!
I must admit when he started crawling, I got scared, well, I'm still scared. It seems for every milestone I am always nervous about what to do next. Now that he's crawling, I'm thinking, man, now what? No more sitting him on the floor and going and folding laundry, no more playing on the laptop while he plays at my feet. It's just scary. I'm sure with our next child, these stages will be a lot easier, but I hate not knowing what I'm doing, and I feel like I'm in that "place" all the time.
Ooooo, I forgot to mention that he's getting up on his knees now too! I'm sure it's any day now and he'll be standing on his own, then soon walking...Yikes! I'll be chasing him everywhere! I can't wait to see what the dogs are going to do when he's running after then, he already freaks them out when he's crawling towards them! :)
Work is going okay, I know my last few posts have been bitchy about work, but it's been going pretty well now, not too much drama anymore. My boss has been taking a few days off lately, which is great because she NEVER takes days off, and this week she's had 2. I love that she trusts me to take over the place when she's gone, but I'm definitely not alone. We have some really great girls there. To top it all off, I've started Weight Watcher's this week and I've already lost 6 lbs, just since last Sunday! Go me :) Only 20 lbs more to go and I'll be a happy camper :) I'll keep everyone updated.

Oh stress, how I've missed the...

Warning: This blog may be bitchy, read as your own risk!

Well, I'm just having a really bad week, and I'm so happy that I'm have a nice long weekend ahead of me. Oh wait, no I don't...I have to work on Sunday, crap. Just a reminder to read the warning label above this blog before continuing on below :) Like I said, I'm having a bad week.
We will start this blog out on a good note. Harrison is doing great! He finally started really crawling the other day towards, you guessed it, the iPhone. That thing is the best invention ever made to get a kid to crawl! He's definitely more into sitting up on his own though. He does it about 20 times a day I'd say, and i'm working on trying to get him to pull himself up on things, but it's not really getting it. Soon enough though! His head is doing great, and it seems to be improving more and more each day, only bad part is that now that it's nice out, he's sweating a lot more in it everyday, so I try to give him more frequent breaks from it.
It's amazing how fast he is growing, he's only 2 months away from being a year old, how crazy is that? I don't want to miss anything that he's doing, I constantly want to be with him, but unfortunately, I have to work, and have been working more it seems this week, so I've missed out on a few days with him, which sucks. But, what can you do? Here are some pictures of him, I finally got some naked ones :) Can't wait to pull these out at prom time!
On to the venting. Work. Don't you hate unnecessary drama at work? It seems that it's a constant in my life, everyday there SOMETHING going on with a particular employee and it really sets me off. She's only been there about 8 months, and she's called in at least over 7 times. 7 times in 8 months. I've called in twice in 2.5 years and they were for Harrison. Insane. She's been off the last 3 or 4 fridays in a row when everyone else (myself included) has been busting their butt on Fridays. We are supposed to be on a rotation, and the girls that are working all the time, with no time off, haven't even gotten the opportunity to get off early. Not cool in my book. To me, you reward hard workers, and get rid of the weakest links. This girl is a weak link. I'm not going to sit here and say that I deserve time off because I don't, I work 35 hours a week, and i'm fine with that. I'm not burnout, but i can tell that my boss is, and she can't even take 1 day off of work because of everything that goes on there. It's just so upsetting. So I'm trying not to stress out, but obviously, not happening. I am constantly feeling panic attacks coming on, and I have to really calm myself down, which is tough when your dealing with all this crap. I love my job, I just don't love the people that work there. There are only 3 other girls there that I can stand, and if it were just us all the time, things would be great. And trying to show my boss how things are when she's not around, it's embarrassing, i feel like a 5th grader all the time, but she deserves to know what's going on with her business when shes' not there. I wish she would just make me a supervisor so I could tell people what to do and get the respect that comes with that title. But, because of another employee who's feelings might get hurt if that happened, she won't do it. It's crazy. Whew. I feel a little better. If only I could have a beer only 2 more months of nursing and I can have one, woo hoo!
To top it all off today, my dog Gladys, the sweetest dog in the world, is sick. Of course it happens when I'm broke. $250.00 after I had just paid $4,000 for another dog back in September. I guess it comes with owning dogs, but geez, $150.00 for blood work?! That's insane! Hopefully everything comes back okay and my little girl is fine, but it's just an unexpected expense right now that I really didn't need.
Sorry for all of the ranting and raving, I'm going to try to stay positive because if you thing positive, then positive things will happen. So, on a positive note, it's my 10th day with no Pepsi. Go me! I swear this is harder than quitting smoking!

First tooth, first sit, first foster...

A lot has happened in the last few weeks of writing on this! Harrison FINALLY got his first tooth!! It broke through about a week ago, it's the bottom right one, and it's about half way out of there now. Thank God! The poor kid has been teething for 5 months now with nada happening until now, it's so cool to actually brush his teeth, and he loves it! I think because the toothpaste is banana flavored :) This kid is crazy for bananas!
Which brings me to his eating habits :) This week, after reading books, and talking to my best friend Cori, who I call constantly about things baby related, said that I could start feeding him "real" food! Holy crap! I was freaking out! He's 9 months, he's actually 9 months now, it's so hard to believe that this week I was cutting up bananas and steaming carrots (which I burned the first batch..........ha ha, only me!) to give to him, and 9 months ago he was just coming out. It's crazy! So, in addition to breast feeding, having baby food once a day, he's now starting to try some carrots, banana, and cooked apples. I'm so afraid that he's going to choke, so the bites haven't been big at all. I must confess, I have been taking the potato masher to them, so the "real" food has been just mashed food :) I'm sure I'll get over this fear of choking, but I'm always afraid for the next milestone in his life. I am always wondering "What will I do when....", like now What will I do when he's pulling himself up? What will I do when he's really crawling around? How will I get anything done that needs to get done? But with each milestone we've adjusted as I'm sure we will do with each one coming up.
Speaking of milestones! On Monday this week I was laying on the floor with him watching him get up on all fours and rocking back and forth, lunging himself forward, and plop :) It was hilarious! So then he did it again, and his back leg was kind of underneath him at an angle, i was like "whatcha doing there bud?"...and he slowlystraightened out his other leg, and sat himself up! It was crazy! I was yelling at Kenney to get in the room and he said "You did that, you sat him up didn't you?"...Heck no I didn't! You should have seen Harrison's face, he was like "Whoa! What the heck did I just do?" He hasn't done it again since, but he's been working on it, I just wasn't expecting that at all and boom, it happened in a matter of seconds!
Now you might be asking first foster? What is that? Well I recently got another dog, yes, I am currently a 4 dog, 3 person family. But this one is just temporary! He's a foster dog named Marley, and I got him through Beagle Buddies Rescue. He's 9 years old, so I figured, no big deal right? He'll probably just sleep all the time! Well, he does sleep all the time like an old guy, but he's also very much like a puppy :) He is not fully potty trained yet, and he's a garbage dog. He's into my trash every chance he gets, no matter how high we put it, he seems to find a way to get it down. So, we've resorted to crate training, which he hates and cries the whole time he's in there, which is hard for me to take a shower, while Harrison is sleeping and Marley is barking the whole time. But it's well worth it. This little guy has had such a hard life so far and the least I can do is give him a good home during his golden years. So, despite what I've just written, he is the sweetest little guy, so if anyone knows of someone looking for an older dog, with a little snoring problem, be sure to send them my way! :) Hope all is well with everyone and I'll post some pictures of Harrison later :)

9 months!

Not really much going on around here :) Harrison is doing great as usual! We went to the doctor today and they said that his head is making "drastic improvements", he even said "Wow", when he did his measurements! I'm so happy he's doing so well, I'm hoping that we can get that helmet off soon, he was sweating in it this past weekend, and I can't imagine what it will be like in July or August.
A few weekends ago, Kenney, Harrison, Kenney's mom and husband and I went to the IMA to the Lilly Gardens to walk around, it was beautiful! We took lots of pictures of course! I can't wait to get our "family portrait" done this weekend, we are doing it ourselves at Eagle Creek, and I'm sure they will turn out great. How can they not? Harrison is super adorable :) Also a few weeks ago we went over to my best friend Cori's house to visit. She had her son almost a month to the day after Harrison was born, so it's pretty awesome that I get to go through the same things with my best friend, hopefully Joey and Harrison will be as close as Cori and I are now :)
This past Sunday it was Mutt Strut! We had a blast and brought Gladys along with us, it was very fun, but very hot. Harrison was helmet free and loving it, and loving all the dogs that he saw. I think he thinks they are big stuffed animals because he's always laughing at them! On the track, he lasted until turn 2, and he was knocked out the rest of the way...guess we can say goodbye to that racing career!
Harrison turned 9 months this past weekend, I can't believe it! I got him a toy, of course, I seem to be getting into the habit of buying him a toy every month on the 25th :) I can't help it! He deserves it!

Here are some things that Harrison is doing:
  • Army crawling still, but also gets on all 4's and starts rocking

  • "Talking" a lot!

  • He's into everything! We baby proofed the house this past weekend.

  • Is "dancing", he shakes his legs, flaps his arms and shakes his head, adorable!

  • Gives hugs! Whenever he's tired, he puts his little arms around my neck and snuggles.

  • Loves cell phones and remote controls!

  • Plays on the laptop like he's typing :)

I think that's about it! Everyday it's something new with him, I love every minute and I'm trying to not take anything for granted because I know it goes by so fast.

Hope everyone is well!

Harrison's first Easter!

Harrison had a great first Easter! He got so much stuff! He got some bubbles, toys, and a stuffed dog with bunny ears on it :) Too cute! It was such a great day, the only thing that sucked was having to rush around everywhere so everyone could see Harrison. We went to Kenney's mom's house, then to my mom's house, then Kenney had to go to the airport because he went on a backpacking trip to the Grand Canyon for the week, so he was rushing around getting everything together. But it was really good, nonetheless. Here are some pictures with his Easter baskets..the crocheted one was Kenney's when he was a baby, how sweet! Also, attached is a video of him laughing :)

Harrison and the ipod :)

Hello everyone! Not too much to report over here :) Harrison is doing great, he's dragging himself around now, it's hilarious. Here is a video of him going after my ipod, he loves it! Really, he loves anything that lights up, ipod, iphone, remote control. I guess that means that he's going to be a "techy" like his dad and papi :) His head is doing really well too! I wish that I would have taken a before and after picture of his head because it's almost all the way round now, when before it was really slanted. He's never had a problem adjusting to the helmet, it's just been me, adjusting to people's looks at him, which still irritates me. I will probably never get over it, I just hate it. Oh well.
A few weekends ago, we bought a new car, a 2009 Ford Escape, it's super sweet. It's hilarious, because it's the car that, whoever has Harrison, gets to drive. So, my 2000 Hyundai Accent is the daily driver for me to work, and for Kenney. So, this car will probably not get too many miles on it :) Also, another funny thing is that my parents got the exact same car! Same color and everything! They went and looked at them, and it was the only color that they had, so now when we go over to mom's, there are 2 identical SUVs in the driveway. Hilarity.
Umm, let's see, last weekend, Kenney's grandma and aunt came down from Michigan to meet Harrison, which was fun. I think they really enjoyed seeing him. I mean, who couldn't! Now on to this weekend, we are going to Kenney's mom's house to take some Easter pictures and decorate eggs on Saturday, then on Sunday, it's Easter morning with them, and Easter dinner with my parents, then Kenney is off to the Grand Canyon to hike down and camp. I'm nervous that he's going, but the guys he's going with have done this a few times, so at least they know what they are doing. :) I'll post pictures of Harrison's easter pictures next week, in the meantime, enjoy the most recent ones here!
